Exhaust installed on my 08 FX4 today.

Today i had my Magnaflow muffler installed. I was just going to buy the Magnaflow kit, but decided to just buy the muffler and have the whole section after the stock y pipe custom built.

The Magnaflow muffler and the stainless tip (3.5") cost me $90 from performance-curve and $185 for the custom piping at a local muffer shop.

They did a good job, and got the sound i was looking for. Nice deep mellow tone.

Thanks...
Muffler is 12249, which is the Satin 5x8x18 3" C/C
Tip is 35104, 15deg slash cut. 3"in/3.5"out, 12" length.

I belive that the muffler that comes in the kit is polished, and is offset other than that, pretty much the same thing. I bought the satin since nobody is ever going to see the muffler, and saved a few bucks.

Sounds good! About 99% close to what my SI/SO Magnaflow cat-back sounds like. Magnaflow is the way to go.

Its funny, i always heard people saying that with packed mufflers they tend to get louder after the first 100miles or so. I can confirm that it is true. So far im loving it... exactly what i was looking for. I really hope it dosnt get too much louder though.

yeah that break in period seems like its ending, takes a couple hundred miles for it to all work right.
