Advice please!

Ok, i want an exhaust system for my truck, but i want a system that isn't really loud and obnoxious but that has a low deep rumble. If you know of any exhaust system that fits that, please let me know!! One that is easy on the wallet would be nice too!! Thanks!!

I went with the Flowmaster cat-back with dual exits. Sound really nice in combination with a K&N intake. I'll see about getting a soundclip tomorrow if you'd like

depends on how much money you want to spend, i think it would be cool to get a siso magnaflow, use the stock tail pipe, cut off the end of it and weld on a stainless 4" tip.

on my 'old' 4X2, I just replaced that HUGE OEM muffler with a FM Super 44 (SI/SO) and added a 4" oval tip on the back. sounded great and wasnt all that expensive. impressed the heck outta the muffler shop guy as my truck only had 74 miles on it when i did that swap...

will do something similar on this truck

probably magnaflow. I had a magnflow si/so, but took it off, and now i have straight pipe. I took it off because i want something that IS real loud. But the magnaflow sounds like what you are looking for. I am actually look to sell the magnaflow muffler or the whole system. My email is jimc2004@hotmail.com if you are interested.

honestly, if you dont want loud then probably a magnaflow 18" or a dynomax welded muffler is the way to go. I have flowmaster super44, and although it is fine for me (not loud enough, actaully) it is pretty loud for the avg. person. Do what built54 sugested and just get a muffler replacement and a tip, shouldnt cost you more then 200 bucks.

Check the recent Roush off-road thread, there are sound clips off the off-road sysatem (pretty load) and I just added a clip of the Roush legal system, which is less loud. I've had it for about a week, and I'm really happy with. The wife hasn't complained, so it must not be too loud.

Here's a link to the thread:

"... isn't really loud and obnoxious but that has a low deep rumble..."

I recommend Corsa.

I have a 18" magnaflow for sale. I'll sell just the muffler or whole si/so catback system. jimc2004@hotmail.com if interested.

The Corsa kits are very nice but they also come with a price tag. There aren't many sound clips of them out there but I found this on that I really like:

Just click the video on the right side near the center of the page.

I love how that sounds and to top it all off its a 4.6L

I swapped my muffler out for a Dynomax-its got a nice deep throaty sound, I mean you can notice it right when you start the truck. Just has a nice deep rumble to it, not extremely loud either.
