Questions on Dumps

Tips are rusting out and I'm considering dumping the exhaust before the axle. Just wasted to know a couple things:

1. Would it pass emissions (i don't think it would just checking)?
2. Would it be possible to clamp turndowns onto my true duals? Then just get some tips whenever it is necessary?

Thanks for the help.

mine passed emissions. it just had to be dumped past the cab. and yes you can just cut the pipes and put turndowns on your duals

Check your local laws. Some states want you to exit the exhaust behind the vehicle, not under it.

Alright that sounds good. How about the whole clamp idea? How do you guys like the sound? Mine would be with no mufflers btw...

my turndowns are clamped on, works just fine. I prefer a muffler, but it will sound good.

Sounds good. So I'm guessing I could buy the clamps and turndowns at the local Advanced or Salvo or something? Doesn't sound like anything too complicated.

Without a muffler, that'll be pretty damn loud. I've got magnaflows with turn-downs and it sounds great. However, I had a sport trac with flowmasters and after I effed up the exhaust pipes I had turn-downs put on... it was WAY louder than before - so I had them put about 18" of pipe after the muffler and it sounded good again.
