Question 4.6 true duals, 2 3/4, or 3"

06' 4.6 lightly moded, lookinh to go true duals w/ high flow cats, and glass packs, dumpped under the bed, what size piping, i heard that for true duals its better to run 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" than it is to use 3", opinions please.

If you really want to you can run 2 1/2.....but just don't go bigger than that, other wise you will lose alot of torque and power.

what do you think about the x-pipe, using maggie hi-flows, and some glass packs dumped before the axle??

I would do all of that except the glass packs...go with a small magnaflow or some other muffler.

Yeah glass packs don't flow as well and they just eventually where out anyway. The bullets would probably sound good and are pretty cheap or you could get a Dual in / Dual Out magnaflow or even 2 Magnaflows if you want to spend the money, but thats not really necessary.

ive never really liked the di/do mufflers, and 2 maggies is 2much money... so, probly the bullets... i'll probly be stupid and leave the cut outs open anyway.

I like my glasspacks, if they are unlouvered inside they will outflow the average exhaust system anyway. I have Thrush glasspacks with 2.25" true duals and wouldn't have it any other way, it has a nice deep sound that isn't too loud. They last for 5-10 years on our 1980's work trucks, which should be a much harsher enviroment than my 2002 pavement pounder.
