Magnaflow with Intake

Hey guys,

Right now I have a SI/DO Magnaflow 18 inch exhaust system with the duals going out the back. It really is not as loud as I would like it to be. The truck only has a k and n drop in and my next mod is going to be an intake system(is outlaw a good choice or should I go for a better, cheaper one?). Will the intake make my truck louder? Or will I have to upgrade to a better muffler? what will the intake do?

You've got a fine exhaust system there..

One thing to keep in mind with intakes is will it cause your engine to run lean.. May not ever get a CEL but it still could be happening.. not a good thing...

If you don't have your pcm tuned for an aftermarket intake then the 3" AF1 is what you want to go with.. nice power, very nice growl..

yup go with an airraid or 3" AF1 cold air intake. both are safe and add power. as far as louder exhaust, maybe get a smaller muffler like the 14" maggie or if you really want some sweet sound get a flowmaster.

How is the Banks Ram Air Intake? I've heard from several posters that intakes are intakes, they will all (with a few exceptions) add the same effect, some with a different sound than others. I've heard a few people say the Banks is actually overly loud, but how loud could an enclosed intake be? In anycase, I've already ordered the Banks, and when I'm home in a few weeks and have it installed, I will let you all know how it worked out. I also realize Banks is known for being a leader in diesels, but as of late they claim to have come a long way in gassers as well.
