super 44

I have a 5.4 liter what do you guys think about swapping the stock muffler for a flowmaster super 44. Im on a budget is the reason for not going with a full catback.

actually the 44s are louder. my friend has an original 40. the original 40 is more of a raspy sound, where the 44 is more toned and smooth.

and as far as dB output and sound levels, the super44 is louder. its the most aggressive street muffler flowmaster has produced.

the only flow i have heard that was louder than my 40, was a 10 series single chamber on a chevy. my next door neighbor has the 44 on his 5.4 and its no where near as loud as my 40 on my 4.6

same model truck? same year? when i called the guy at flowmaster asking what to get, i told him i wanted their loudest muffler. he said they had just finished testing the super44 and said that it was the loudest muffler they have ever tested and put into production. they test everything on the same set of engines too i believe. ohwell, to each his own.

probably just the difference in trucks. you heard those 10 series? those things are rediculous, like running straight pipes

yeah ive considered running true duals with two 10 series. only reason im not is because i drive a lot of highway and im worried that it will drone real bad.

Thanks

Appreciate the input I am talking to my muffler guy about the super 44s in a dual 2 1/2" in and single 3" out turned down right out of the muffler. This would put everything before the rear axle. https://www.f150online.com/galleries...3433-thumb.jpg Im not worried about the drone so much i only use the truck for offroad use and hunting. Muffler guy suggested a cherry bomb vortex as an option????any comments. h

They dont make 2.5" dual in 3" signle out mufflers, its single in on every 40 series & 44 mufflers.

none the less the Super 44 is the best sounding muffler they have made. Deep toned echo idle, loud roaring WOT, heard very well going 1500rpms even. If only they would make them out of steel.
