5.4 with no muffler

Will a 5.4L with no muffler on an 07 screw be too loud? with 3" or 2.5" pipe?

I have true duals with no muffler, and an x-pipe and i love the sound. Its not really all that loud unless you avccelerate really hard. If you go easy on the throttle its not loud at all. I have an 2005 with the 5.4, and my truck only has two catalytic converters...

I was disappointed in how it sounded actually. When I cut my old cat back off, figured hey, what the hell, let's see what I got here before bolting up a new one. I actually think the new exhaust on is louder in some ways. It must be the way it was angled or because I really didn't rev the hell outta it.

I don't know about the stock system minus the muffler, but true dual straight pipes are very loud. However, a dumped mufflerless exhaust might be too loud for some considering it's right underneath the cab.

I stopped at the Quikie Mart this afternoon and there in the parking lot was I'd guess a '02 or so Silverado with quads on each side, in front of the rear wheels.. I waited until the guy came out and asked him what he was running.. he was in a hurry to leave but told me long tube headers, no cats, no mufflers.. he got in and fired it up and holy ****!!!!

Nothing I'd do on my truck, it was LOUD... but damn did it sound good!!

I can't imagine how it'd sound in the cab, can't hear yourself think probably..

if your running the 2 cats only a little loud, search it up on youtube.com, if your running the '05 & older 4 cat, hardly any different without a muffler still be too quiet.

I have a 2001 Screw 5.4. Last year cut out the mufflers, ran duals to the rear. It is throaty but not too loud. Does cause a few looks if you accelerate hard. Some places won't inspect it though.

it's not as loud as you think it would be.

that's what i'm running and i honestly think if i were to put a single chamber flow or something compariable it would be louder than it is now.

plus with nitto muds it doesn't really matter b/c they're freaking LOUD

True duals on a pre '04 5.4 will be louder than on a '04 newer 5.4.

I love my true dual straight pipes!
