Intake Noise Question

I installed an AFE intake into my 2007 f-150 w/ 5.4L. Is it typical for an intake to be really loud when you "get on it?" This is my first gas truck and the intakes on my diesel's just made the turbo wine more.

I've got the 3" AF1 intake and it definetly makes more sound, not sure I'd call it "noise"..

What I hear is a sort of "whoosh" of induction when I step on it, but there is certainly what I'd call more of a "growl" from under the hood when accelerating. Can't hear it at all when crusing at steady rpm. I'd don't find it aggravating at all, I like the way it sounds..

Oh I definitely like the sound. It is very burly sounding, just louder than I though it would be.
