Leaning Out with intake

I've got a 05 SuperCrew with the 5.4 in it..... Just worried about leaning it out when i install an intake. I've heard some people having problems with this. I have not yet picked an intake and not sure which one to go with?? Have people had problems with the S & B?? is it a 3"??

Thanks

05supercrew has an EDGE so it doesnt lean out but they say that the troyer 3 inch AF1 wont cause a lean condition without a programmer?

Not a correct statement.

Please search to educate yourself, as this has been discussed ad nauseum.

A canned tuner will not and can not fix the leaning problem some intake will cause. Only a custom tune can i.e. troyer, JLT, etc...

As long as you pick an intake w/ a 3 inch diameter piping, you should be fine. Just make sure you disconnect the negative batter cable, while your installing the intake. This forced the ECU to reset itself and to also re-correct itself with the new intake.

Due a lil bit of searching and you will find all the info you need a finger tip away. I also suggest an AF1 intake. Just installed mine last night and its a night and day difference. search AF1 (Airforce 1) instake and you will have tons of info of it.

Edit: Usually the only motors that run lean or have the possibility of running lean w/ an aftermarket intake our the 04 models, as some of them ran lean out of the factory but if im correct they fixed the problem on 05's and up. Correct me if Im wrong guys.

There was someone here running the Edge,S&B and exhaust that had his truck dynoed and was running perfect air/fuel. That doesnt mean everyone will be running perfect a/f. I need to hit a dyno to have it checked out.

You need to put it on a dyno and check the air/fuel mixture.
