Angry Problem With "Flowmaster American Thunder System #17417" 06 F150

I have had this system on my truck for little over a year now, and I love it. Sounds great!

Only thing is I hate the way that it looks coming out the back. It's like the 2 ends are not lined up at all, and it bothers me. I just ordered some 3 1/2" Angle cut tips for the truck, and I would like to have the to ends lined up before I install the tips. I also plan on having the system welded on as soon as the tips arrive, but no welds are going on until I have this fixed. I have read the instructions that came with the system at least 50 times now, and the system is on the way that Flowmaster tells you too put it on.

Below are some pictures of the problem:

Notice how the left end is 5 1/2" and the right is 2 1/2". 3" difference.

Where I have circled, I think I could get just a straight pipe and run it to the back. That might even the 2 up.

The 2 1/2" is perfect. I wish that the left side was this way.

Most all of the F-150s that I see on the road, have their pipes about 2" - 2 1/2" away from the towing package. That's how I would like for mine to be. I am posting this hoping that maybe some one else out there has encountered this problem and could offer me a solution.

I haven't tried just doing the side exit. The system did come with extra pipes for side exit, but I love the classic rear exit look.

Please Help!

ya just take it to your shop, give em 20-30 bucks and tell them to make it look good, come back in an hour and your problems will be solved.

I sure hope that you're right. Where I live, we no longer have any real small shops. Not close by anyways. Most everything now is name brand. There's a Meineke about 10 miles from my house, but they're REAL high.

I'm gonna go searching for a shop. I'll post pictures of the end result, once I have it fixed.

-Thanks guys

I finally found time to get under her and work on it. My dad came over and helped me. He has my grandfather's old torches (from the 1940's) and he had to use them to get the straight exhaust pipes off.

I went with the angle pipes just to kinda save myself some money. They came with the kit that I originally ordered. Those tips are Gibson 3.5" X 12", 2.5" inlet of course.

I am happy with the new look. Looks alot better than that offset look that I had going. Sounds just a tad bit different too. Don't know if it's the .5" difference in tip size, or the new angle.

Anyways here's the new pics:
