2003 Expedition Exhaust Sizing-Installed

Instead of getting a cat-back system, I'm just going to buy a universal Maggy exhaust and have a shop put that in.

I'm just wondering, what inlet and outlet piping size do I get? Also, would both the inlet and outlet be center, or is one of them offset?

Preferably, I'd want one found on performancepeddler, or some other place that have cheaper Maggy exhausts.

I'm also, getting a new Y, but I already know the sizing of that.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: If it matters, it's a 4.6.

Also, what's the difference between the oval mufflers and the round ones?

Well, just came back from a muffler shop. Apparently, the sizing is 2.5 offset in, 2.5 center out.

Went ahead and got a 5x8x18 from performancepeddler. Just below 70 dollars, plus the 40-50 dollars for installing, I'll hopefully have some good sound for around 110-120 dollars

Not getting the Y pipe because apparently, that would be 2 hours of labor, so for now, it's not going on

I'll be sure to post a sound clip of before and after.

Finally got installed yesterday.

As soon as he turned it on, a smile came on my face.

You can definitely hear it inside, though it's nothing obnoxious. A little bit of music will drown it out.

I'll post pix of the install, and some video I took of before and after.

Overall, I'm very happy

sweet. look forward to the videos.

2.5" is the size for pretty much all Triton Motors exhausts :thumb:

Here's the video:

In the video, I just realized I type something wrong. It's supposed to say "a foot or two behind exhaust pipe."

Also, it might be better to listen to the video with headphones so you can better hear the lower frequencies.

And here are the pics.

Before:
Photobucket is being gay. But you know how a stock one looks like

After:

More pictures

Muffler by itself. 5X8X18, 2.5 center, 2.5 offset:

Flow through design FTW!
