I would imagine you do. I also imagine people will encourage you to not bother with them, but cats are the first line of defense against unburned hydrocarbon pollution, a major component of smog and visible pollution. You don't have to be a tree hugger to be concerned with this, it's a known health issue, and a source of pollution we can actually do something about, individually.

96 f150 5.0L v8. I love the sound, but I just want it a little more loud. It sounds really really great when you listen for it, but i want you to not have to listen for it. Ok, so I would need one for both sides...****. Thats another $250

I'm not sure how good they are but magnaflow now has high flow california legal cats. They may not be that high flow but that is what magnaflow calls them.

For starters, I found this page that has about twenty models: http://www.car-stuff.com/catalytic/q...1996&model=461
Are any of these quality? This is a random page, but I didn't know where else to start! I have the 5.0, and it says whatengine they're for beneath the picture, so try to pick one that's compatbile. Thanks yall

With duels, and two mufflers, do I need front, rear, or front+rear converters?
And, whatever I get, I'll need two, one ofr each pipe, right?
How does this one look to you, will is sound louder than stock?

I see that your new but like someone else said. No need to start 5 threads to get an answer to your question.
We are all here to help and do go back and check on threads. By doing it in 5 threads your just going to get more confused!
Phil

i know my the Ford F150 isnt on the list for "having been tested yet." plus the policies are something like this:
if your vehicle has 4 stock cats, it must hav 4 AM cats
if all stock cats are functional, you cannot replace them
If 1 cats is difunctional and 3 arent, you can only replace the non functional one

..bah blah blah i might just go illegal right after i get smogged next time. its such BS here.
