F150 4.6 Headers

Does anyone make long tube headers for a 2003 F150 with a 4.6 V8? I've been looking without much luck at all.

Thanks,

they make headers for every engine except the 4.6

just kidding

dynatech, kooks, pacesetter, obx just to name a few

5.4 headers are the same as the 4.6 just the Y-pipe is different

maybe you need to use the search option next time

So what's the deal, can you just buy a 99-03 5.4 long tube headers, and either figure out what you need for the y-pipe, or buy it and have an exhaust shop put it in, or what? I have a manifold leake in my 99 4.6, so im thinkin i might as well get some headers now, because i want them in the long run anyways, except i dont really want some shorties, cuz lets face it, how many times to you run ur truck engine between 4500-5000 rpms? I want the low end grunt from the longtubes for offroading, and towing.

shorties are a waste of money, I gained no hp or torque anywhere. My long tubes gained me 30hp and 35ftlbs. I wouldnt want to risk buying the headers and not fitting your 4.6, but maybe you could send them back if they dont?

Maybe you should call pacesetter. The 5.4 headers do NOT fit on the 4.6. I know from experience. There was a small spot that would not clear on the drivers side. They should bolt up to the heads fine but they didn't clear the frame.

Believe me we tried. Looks like you used the 4X4 ones which we didn't. So I guess they're a little different and yes we already know the EGR wasn't going to fit into the plan.

What made you use the 4x4 headers? Just trying them to see if they would fit? Or did someone tell you they would work?

We talked to Pacesetter on many different occassions and they said they do not make a LT header for the 4.6.

i got the 4X4 headers because i didnt see the 2WD ones. someone said the only diff between 2WD and 4X4 headers is were the o2 bungs are in the collector and thats it. i have plenty of room on the driver side header by the frame. the passenger side was kind of clean but theres about a 1/4 - 1/2 inch space between the frame and header. Yeah i got the 97-03 5.4L 4X4 longtubes from pacesetter and the only prob i had was the EGR being a diff. size and i couldnt find the right size anywere so i got an EGR block plate. 4.6L and 5.4L are the same heads...my 4.6L has 5.4L heads on it lol the only diff. is the deck height and i think thats only what like 2 inch diff? Thats werid they didnt fit for your humm. They were the quick-trip long tube headers right?

Yep the quick trip LT's from Pacesetter. They were 5.4 LT's for the 2wd and they wouldn't clear the frame, we could have got them to fit if we wanted to take a hammer and bang on them but I didn't think it was a good idea, plus they were new.

wait did you get them to the heads or you couldn't even feed it to the heads? on my passenger side i had to take the heat sheild off to get them up there. thats about all i can think.

im pretty sure the only diff. in the 2WD and 4X4 is were the o2 bungs are in the collectors you could ask pacesetter thoe.

We couldn't even get the header up to heads. The very top of the flange on the header would touch but we couldn't rotate it into the right position because it was hitting something on the frame.
