tkimry is a buddy of mine and he is talking about my truck, its a 2002 f150 2wd and we both went that day to put them on and we got everthing off and went to bolt them up and the flange on the driver side hit on the motor mount, it was off by maybe and inch, and man was i pissed! maybe from 97 to 2002 something changed, idkt he part number that i used on pacesetters websight was 72c2226, would it be worth it to try and use the same ones shifty85 used and see if they work or not? thanks!

I have some on a 5.4L - The 5.4L & 4.6L use the same heads. Why do you want pics ? What do you want to see ?

5.4L header will NOT fit 4.6L

Bringing this back from the dead!

When I sold my F150 4.6L 4x4 s/cab to my buddy a couple years ago I was having an exhaust leak by the motor. Turns out both bolts holding the cats/y-pipe to the driver's side were rusted completely through.

I ordered some OBX headers that were advertised as 4.6 or 5.4 fitment. Well when we got them a friend of his did the install (I was too busy) and they didn't fit. They were the 5.4L version.

There are a couple of differences. While the actual bolt pattern on the heads is the same as both motors use the same heads, the 5.4L has a much higher deck height. So physically the heads are higher in the chassis than the 4.6L as well as slightly further apart. The collector on the 5.4L header has a slightly different angle (more downward I think) than the 4.6L header so it will NOT bolt up to your 4.6L y-pipe/cats. I suppose if you use a 5.4L y-pipe it may fit however there would still be fitment troubles where the y-pipe mounts to the rest of the exhaust. If you have a welder no problem.

The second major problem is the egr bung on the 5.4L header is welded on totally different than the 4.6L header so unless you weld some kind of a pipe that will match up to your existing egr pipe no way that's gonna work either.

So when you see headers for sale on fleabay buyer beware as these idiots advertise 4.6 & 5.4 fitment with the same header. THIS IS WRONG!
Such as: http://cgi.ebay.ca/1997-1998-1999-20...item2c5288b893
....but damn.... they sure are CHEAP.

Here's one that would fit: http://cgi.ebay.ca/97-03-Pacesetter-...item2eaa978b23
I prefer the equal-length tubes too.

4.6 triton 2v longtube headers perfect fit

Found some headers here's the fix I found one out of 5 sets of different brand headers these are the only ones that are a true bolt on 100% perfect fitment there called maximizer performance headers but if your plugging in o2 sensors you need a set of upstream o2sensor extensions

Hey do you have a part number for these headers? Or a link? I'm looking to do some exhaust work in the near future so I'd like to look at these before I do.

Ive heard many stories saying the 5.4 pacesetters work fine in a 2WD 4.6 but none on a 4x4 4.6. Im really wanting to find a solution for this. My exhaust is pretty bad and I want to go all out if im replacing it
