do tips make a difference?

i havent decided if i want to dump my exhaust or to have it splits out each side behind the tires with tips. do tips make any sound difference, do they make it sound deeper or louder? is there a difference from rolled tips to single wall tips? will dumped exhaust sound better than tips? louder or deeper?

I went from a rolled to slash cut tip and didn't notice a sound difference. I think if you get the dual wall tips they can make a sound difference but no experience with that. Also I was dumped for a short period and there was a little sound difference at idle as it reverbed off the ground. Can't say it was deeper or not.

Tips do make a difference, just ask the ricers
Usually the larger diameter and the longer the tip, the louder it gets.
Double walled tips absorb some of the sound, so they sound quiter.

I have a Borla muffler si/so dumped to the side, lighting style
with a double walled, double pipe tip. It sounds almost stock when its at
idle, but when I step on it, it gets really deep and loud. The tip is what makes the difference, because I had it just without a tip for a while and it was to loud for me.

The tip itself will make VERY little difference- the location, size of piping, and location of exhaust exit will determine 90%~ of the sound (or more).

How do you want it to sound? Loud, deep, quite at idle, loud when revving up? You could have a great sounding exhaust at idle, that will give you a headach on the freeway.

i want the deepest sound possible nice lowwww rumble, it can be loud whenever, i always have music on kinda loud and ive had someone of a suped up 96 f1 with a 351 c with headers and dual dumped flowmasters that came with it so im used to the loud. i just couldnt stand the tone of them at idle or passing gear.
