true duals
Hi & welcome.
No takers, I see. LOL!
Here's my spin on this topic.
True duals, where each engine bank has it's own dedicated exhaust path, whether or not a crossover ( X or H) is used, can be a very effective mod IF it's implemented correctly. That means, choosing proper pipe size for the intended application, mandrel bends, effective mufflers & cats, an X pipe as close to the rear cats, near the engine, as possible, etc.
Done improperly, and you will lose a substantial portion of the benefits - which include extending the low-end torque curve, and high rpm breathing.
The whole key to exhaust is enhancing, or at the very least maintaining, high exhaust gas velocity, and ensure efficient cylinder scavenging. That's why some installs perform better than others even though a given setup may sound superior - nothing wrong with great sound if that's the primary goal, though.
They generally will sound louder than other configs, given the same muffler type.
They are usually more expensive - at least for a high quality complete setup, in stainless.
And - they can sound amazing!
There is also, of course, the bragging rights factor lol.
Try out the Search feature, as there are a few folks here who have great duals. Phil ( OpenclassPro#11) has such a system.
