dumped exhaust

Well i have had my lifted 2005 reg cab for almost a year now and its time to put on some exhaust. I know i want it dumped but i dont know a whole lot about exhaust. I dont want something expensive beecause im still 17 and money is definitely a little tight. I was thinking about the original 40 muffler but not sure if it would be loud enough for me. Any type of information and help would be appreciated. Thanks.

if you want loud, go with the 40. ive got one dumped on my truck and i love it. but i did notice a little low end power loss. you might want to check out the 14" magnaflow. you can get them cheap on http://www.performancepeddler.com

Thanks for the quick reply, but i really have no idea what to buy. Do i just by the muffler and a shop will have the pipe. If so which one should i buy.

what you can do is just have a shop cut out the stock muffler and weld the new one in its place. most places will put a turn down on the muffler(like a bent pipe that directs the exhaust downward) when i first got my muffler put on i had it welded in and a tip put on the end, but i wanted it louder so i just chopped the pipe off. you just need to find out what size piping you have and then buy a muffler.
