Magnaflow 16614 Does not fit.

Well the part # 16614 by magnaflow that I ordered does NOT bolt right up. I found this out AFTER i dropped the stock exhaust. The tailpipes extend out about 10" past the bumper.

So I call magnaflow & there response was that the exhaust is NOT cut to fit the Short bed supercrew 04 F150 the wording is a misprint on there web site. Other then cutting & bending & sacrificing the design of it , the stock one gets bolted back on & the magnaflow gets shipped back. What a PIA.

Have you purchased ANYTHING for your truck that you have not complained about or had problems with?

Does the mid pipe need cut? I can tell you that I'd probably never buy a "packaged" exhaust again. I suggest buying the exact muffler and tip you want then find a good custom exhaust shop and tell them where you want it to exit and sit and read a magazine for the 1/2 hour to 45 minutes it takes them to do it. I already changed my whole exhaust from the 16612 and did it custom for about $100 LESS than just the 16612, including new muff/tip/install/pipe bending, etc. It fits better, you could do chin ups from it and it's exactly how I want it. Good luck.

quick question - i'm just looking to order the 14" magnaflow muffler, not a whole set up.

is the part number 16614 applicable to a 98 F150 with the 4.6? I always get confused as to which part number i would want when it comes to ordering. Thanks for your help guys and sorry it didnt work out for you z - u later!

THanks again,

John

The 16614 was not designed to fit an 04, they are for 04.5 and up the 04's require a different part #. try getting a #15834, it's a dual rear exit designed just for the 04's built prior to may 31 04

Cut the tailpipes? You have to bolt on the tips anyways? Is it that big of deal? I just put a magnaflow catback on my 2000 and I had to cut about a foot off the midpipe other then that it fits like a glove

Ouch.

Seems that you brought this problem on yourself by purchasing something for a different model year.

Wierd, I ordered the 16614 and it looks perfect. It's for a 2006 Screw with 5.5' bed.
