Volant Air intake....

Just installed this last week, it took about an hour and has added a little sound under the hood......definitely a bit throaty but smooth at speed. It may just be me but it feels like it added a little kick to it on the low end.

Took my AF1 off and put the stock back on for a trip to the dealer.. You can bet that the AF1 is going back on as soon as I get home tomorrow!!

The growl and response are just not there with the stock intake. The truck feels it's weight again, does that make sense?

Whistle?

I had a 4.6 F150 and put the AF1 on it. I've since upgraded to a 5.4 FX4 and was going to do the same thing. My only complaint on my last truck w, the AF1 is that there wouyld be an annoying whistle at higher RPMS. It may have just been my particular AF1, but have you noticed any whistle with the 5.4 engine running an AF1?

The only sound I have noticed with the AF-1 is when you give it gas you can hear the air being sucked into the intake.

I personally love the sound.

Yep, put the AF1 back on this afternoon and got back the sweet sound and throttle response.

I cleaned and oiled the filter while I had it off, was a bit worried about over-oiling. One day of paper towels in both ends, about 5 minutes of the shop vac drawing air through the filter, no problemo. Took her for a little 40 mile run on the interstate, no CEL, runs perfectly.

BTW, when I took it to the dealer last week for the 15k service they replaced the stock air filter. It's a different design than the original filter, cone shaped, but with a rubber kinda dome over the center. It's a Motorcraft, but a better looking design than the stock IMO. I was surprised when I opened up the stock intake today. Maybe they're getting it?.. LOL
