Which intake for the 01 5.4

I done a little looking on here to see what cai people suggest for the 01 5.4 f150 but it always seem that it ends up all the guys with the newer model 150s suggesting what they have I know their is some differences in the engines so I would like to hear from the people that have the same engine I have. This way I can get a better idea which intake to go with.

All the major brands make intakes for the fuel injected engines - it's just a matter of picking the one you like.

I'd go with the AF1 also..

I recommend the following depending if you want an "enclosed" or "exposed" filter intake system:

Enclosed Filter System, non-oiled synthetic filter - OUTLAW POWER $209 http://www.outlawpower.com/productdetail.php?sc=1180

AND

Exposed Filter System, oiled cotton - AIRFORCE ONE $239 http://www.airforceoneperformance.co...expedition.php

Both are proven on the dyno and have great personalized customer service.

I got a K&N 77 Series intake on mine and its great. I haven't experienced any other brand of intake but you can hear the difference at WOT. Very pleased tho, it increases gas mileage when I'm not driving like a jerk. And when I pop the hood it looks really nice since it has a beautiful polished aluminum tube going from the heat shield into the throttle body with the K&N logo on it.

Here's a picture of it on SummitRacing.com un-installed:

HyperGT, have you already decided? If not, I will add my two cents.

I went with a Volant intake. It is not shiny, nor is it really cool to look at, but they have great design and engineering behind it. The intake is enclosed, and has an inlet port that extends low and towards the front of the engine compartment. These 3 things together go towards supplying as much cooler air as possible, which maximizes power gains.

Also, being enclosed, it doesn't have the rushing-air sound some people don't like. So I recommend you first decide why you want a CAI and then go from there.
