Dumped exhaust heat?

I just had my exhaust dumped right before the rear axle. I drove it home and checked it and the area behind the muffler was pretty hot. (Duh!)

My question is if this will affect the axle or the clutch packs for my LS diff.

The muffler guy told me to expect the paint on the axle area to not stay on there long. He also told me not to worry about the heat, but I'm curious anyways.

I have measured my diff case temp (outside) before with a cheapo IR temp gun and it was 120-130F normally, which is pretty hot.

The e-brake cable housing goes through this area too, but it was not hot to the touch. Only the axle, which was hot all over, but specifically very hot right behind the muffler.

So, am I going to cause any problems?

If your heating your axle I would be Concerned , mine used to be dumped, I put a pretty steep 45% to keep it off the axle , I was getting some fumes in the cab with the back window open so I changed , someone on here posted that it was bad for the under side of the truck with all the fumes and Chemicals from the exaust
