Need a little shove in the right direction...

I'm looking into a Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler for my 04 s-crew 5.4L. All I want, is my truck to sound like a truck! I don't want the neighborhood blat, or to be that guy that bought a muffler quieter than his stock pipe. I'd like to get a good tone why'll using the usual 1200-2500rpm range, and a little bite on top.

I've read alot of the exhaust posts and with so many different people liking different things, and all the #'s like 40 series and so on has me a bit confused.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I like Magnaflow. No drone like the Flowmaster 40's on my last truck. I picked up some power, better throttle response & 1.5 MPG with just a muffler swap. A 14" or 18" Magnaflow will sound good. With the Mag, the smaller the muffler, the louder they are.

x 2 for Magnaflow. I love the sound with my kit, it's loud enough to turn heads outside but when you are cruising you can't hear it over the radio. Also when you put your foot down it comes to life and lets you know what you have under the hood.

EDIT: Here's a little video I made of it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z_K3bGTix-A

Go with the Magnaflow 14", I had the Flowmaster 50 series and I think the truck runs better with the Magnaflow. Don't get me wrong I liked the Flowmaster and wish my truck was louder but its just those little things you notice while driving and makes you think man this truck runs good.
