Manifolds
Hey NYFORDGUY, I tried to message you but it wont let me. Need to possibly try to change the right manifold on a 97 expedition with 5.4. Can you tell me how long it took you to change them out and if you experienced any problems. Also if any special tools were needed.
Hey there, thats odd no messaging problem there. Well I can't tell you yet becaue I haven't done it! My mechanic and I are going to do this because I do not want to bust a stud off. He did a manifold replacement on a 98 V6 F150. He said it we really well, just lots of penetrating catalyst, heat and an "easy out" that goes on a socket, vise grip device thingy that grabs the stud and turns it.
Said the job went extremely well and didn't run into any problems at all, he did stress that you need to heat the metal AROUND the stud for it to spin right out.

Hey guys just figured I'd give an update, all done, and boy good thing they were changed! Many studs were in god awful shape. New gaskets made a huge difference too, no more ticking sound. I'll get pics up of the old and the new ones soon!
