Bad Cats?

Lately I have been experiencing hesitation upon acceleration, and I have researched the problem in the engines/transmissions forums. I have already replaced my fuel filter, and I am taking the truck to the shop in the morning for transmission service. Several people have said that a tranny flush has fixed the hesitation. I am wondering if it may be related to the cats, if they are clogged, etc. My SC1714 should be here soon, maybe that will help too.
Any other input?
Thanks in advance

you can check the cats with a vacumn gauge. a easier way, go underneath tap them with a rubber mallet. if you hear any rattling they are broken inside.no need to slam them ,just a light tap.
