Got my exhaust done

Well I got off work early today and had a little free time so I decided to head to a local shop and check into a Magnaflow system. They had the one I wanted in stock, but wanted $771 to install it . The guy told me he could build me a system for way less than that so we talked. It does have a Magnaflow muffler, but the pipes they custom bent right there in the shop and installed onto the muffler. Everything, including the support brackets, are welded together and not clamped, which was a plus. It sounds great under acceleration, probably not as loud as a total Maganflow sytem and definately not as loud as a Flowmaster, but it's very quiet up in the cab at cruising speeds. Total for everything, including tax, was $426 out the door. I'm very happy with the new exhaust. Here's a couple pics, sorry about the text, but they were taken with a cell phone that I sent to the wife and I wanted to make sure she could find the tips.

I'll have to find a way to make some clips, never attempted that before. Also not sure the size is, think the tips are 3.5", but will have to measure to be exactly sure.

The muffler is a Magnaflow, I should have asked which model # it was, but I didn't. Yes it's a single in, dual out. I was actully pretty pleased with the price especially after what he told me he'd have to charge me for the complete Magnaflow system. He said shipping charges are passed right along to the customer and that's why they charge so much for them. I was thinking, what shipping charges?

To order the Magnaflow system I really wanted online I would have paid roughly what I paid to get this sytem installed today and it's a welded system. Still not sure how it could be as cheap as it was since it did come with a Magnaflow muffler, but hey I'm not complaining.

I like the tips on those. Wanted to ask, what is a decent price for a full cat-back Magnaflow system? I was quoted $500 installed, is that a good deal? Thanks

Well seeing how the shop I went to wanted to charge me $771 to install the maganflow dual exhaust I'd say $500 installed is a fair price. The one plus of getting it installed is that you can get it welded instead of clamped.
