Tune or not

Do I HAVE to get a tuner if I do an exhaust and CAI?? Or can I run as is with the mods?

I didn't get a tune put in my truck (SCT) untill I put the supercharger in it. Simple bolt ons won't trip a check engine light.

0'4's are notorious for having air inatakes lean em out- they may not pop a cel but i'd be damned if i'd chance it on a 35 k$ truck-phil

Not tuner needed for any cat-back exhaust system.

I'd be very careful about a CAI without tunes. Could cause your engine to run lean even if no CEL is thrown.

Saying that no bolt on mod will trip a CEL may be correct, tho I doubt such a sweeping statement, but no CEL does not equal you aren't doing damage to your drivetrain. If you install any intake other than the 3" AF1 on these trucks you'd better be ready to pay a shop to measure your A/F (air-to-fuel) ratios just to be sure you aren't running lean. And then pay more to correct it with tuning.

Under no circumstances do you want to run lean for any length of time.

Then again, it didn't rain this weekend for the first time in weeks, bb-qued, drank a lot, I'm more than half drunk right now.. So all I said may be just bull****.. LOL..

Without a custom tune to compensate, any CAI will lean out your engine. May not run dangerous enough to trip a light, but '04's were/are notorious for tripping lean CEL's very easily.
