hooker mufflers or glasspacks

Hey yall, just kinda lookin at some new exhaust options, im hopin to put tru duals on my 97 soon, and i was lookin through the summit catalog and saw hookers maximum flow mufflers, says the max flow flows only 5% less than straight pipes and it caught my attention. I was thinking about maybe putting on some kind of glass pack because i like it loud but i thought maybe these would be something to consider also? Just wondering if anyone is running these hookers, or glasspacks i guess too and which u think would sound better. Thanks guys.

Why not just go with straight pipes? Testing?

I'd love to go with straight pipes but im 16 and can't afford to get a ticket lol, what im thinking about doing is just cutting off the back cats, the ones after the o2 sensor and then doing duals back, i have a single flowmaster on there now and it just isn't loud enough for me so yeah, and i've been reading and alot of peope say not to get glasspacks, why not? Im also looking at the cherry bomb extreme, anyone using these? Thanks

glasspacks are very restrictive, flow testing proves this, but I cant recall the site that tested them. My truck was louder with a flowmaster than straight pipe when i had all 4 stock cats...

Check out the IMCO Extreme muffler. I have it on my 97 4.6 v8 and it sounds good. It was louder then my buddies 2000 5.4 v8 with glasspacks.

It is just one muffler si/do. Here is their website http://www.grabthepower.com/index.html I love the way it sounds. After I got mine installed I ended up ordering 2 more for my 2 friends. This is where I got it from http://www.fle-online.com/index.asp They are now cherry bomb mufflers so look under the mufflers-cherrybomb-extreme. Let me know if you have any more questions.

O ok, yeah i was actully lookin at the cherry bomb extreme mufflers, how loud are they, i kinda like my truck to be loud enough where people can hear me coming before they see me lol, i will probably go with duals though, have 2mufflers, that should help the loudness a little

hm thanks for the help man, i think im kinda of leaning towards the extremes, im thinkin cut off the rear cats and go into 2.5 in pipe then just go 2 2.5 pipe into 2 extremes then 2.5 out to polished tips out the back, jsut gotta get a little money together

the Cherry Extreme would sound pretty good & loud for you, so would running true duals with dynomax bullet mufflers, those are a flow through design muffler and are very loud, not obnoxious loud but you will have people looking out their windows as you drive by their houses
