Roush , K&N or other?

I can't decide which cold air intake to get. Moss has the Roush 5.4L for $319.95. And K&N - well everyone has different prices. I know the K&N is cheaper. I'm not worried about prices. I just wanted some input on different kinds and/or real world performance on any. Thanks.

I have been wondering the same thing. I have read a bunch of stuff on this site about air intakes and I am really confused now. I have also been considering the Airaid but I think I am leaning towards the K&N...

Also what's the difference between the k&n aircharger and the 77 series air intake?

I put on a K&N 77 series on my FX4 right after I bought it and love it! Never had any problems at all! A lot of people seem to be down on it for some reason, but I've been happy with mine. It also looks pretty slick when you pop open the hood since it's a chrome intake tube.

Many like Outlaw Power, $250 for a sealed enclosure intake with NeverOil filter. The sealed enclosure shields protects the "oxygen" from heat and dust/mud.

I have read that the 3.5" will need custom tunes, and the 3" is only for the 4.6... I can't seem to find the af1 for the 5.4L other than the 3.5"...

Call Troyer Performance. They should have both sizes.

Yes the 3.5" tube will require custom tuning, but you can get the 3" tube for the 5.4L. I'm running it on my truck and love it, highly recommend the AF1!

According to Nelly and Troyer Performance, they are the best for our trucks.

I like my S&B once I removed a bolt from under the box that made a bad rattle.

The AF1 actually is that good. Pretty much the same price as comparable CAI's, sweet sounds, noticeably better throttle response.
The only drawback might be if you're nervous about having a non-enclosed filter. Unless you drive through very high water regularly it shouldn't be an issue, though some folks seem to be worried about it. I'm not.
3" AF1 here and could not be any happier with it. No rattles, squeaks, wtf is this noise?, etc...

I'd recommend the AF1, but good luck with whatever you go with!!
