Flowtech Shorty Smog Headers

I'm thinking about ordering some Flowtech Shorty Smog headers for my 5.4 F150 to help out on the sound, perferomance, ect.. Anybody ever installed headers on their F150. I know you probably have to take a bunch of crap out to get them in. Anybody have any feedback on the Flowtech headers or difficulty of installation??? Anything is much appreciated. Thanks

One of my buddies has headers on his truck, you can definitely hear the difference. There is probably a little performance increase.

So you guys don't think the shorties will make much difference in the sound??????, thats about all i'm really looking for. The guy is selling them for like 150 brand new in the box all hardware and directions. i've already seen them and everything looks there.

Well the price is cheap enough.
I am not sure about the sound difference?
What is your exhaust set up now?

I'm running flowmaster 40's SI/DO out the rear corners. About to put K&N on after i do the headers, if i do buy them. I'm basically just trying to make it sound little better/louder than it does now. Not that i don't like the flowmaster sound. I'd like to have long tubes because i know they would make it sound alot better. But i'm on a budget and 150 is cheap for headers.

long tubes and shorty will basicly be the same sound! Its the cats that makes the louder! My truck and car with cats it was loud but not that loud! So u got a new y-pipe without cats and damn it was loud! both had lt headers

Actually you may get the sound you want by swapping your 4 converters for 2 high flows and it will be less work

Actually shorties will not give you a sound difference, just a ticking sound from the headers them selves. Long tubes give your exhaust a lot more agressive sound. I gained 30hp and 35ftlbs torque from long tubes, and 0hp 0ftlbs from shorties.
