AEM Brute Force
AEM Brute Force
Hi everyone,
Just got my AEM Brute Force intake today and installed it in the truck. I was wondering if anyone else with this intake thinks that the IAT sensor seems to fit a little loose. I installed the rubber grommet that they provide and then put the sensor into the tube, but it seems like it moves around an awful lot. It seems to me like some amount of unmetered (and more importantly unfiltered) air would get in there through the sides. I was thinking of putting a bit of silicone around the sensor to seal it up. That would still allow me to remove it if I needed to.
Also, has anyone had any problems with the heat shield not lining up quite right? Mine sits in just the right position where it is impossible to get the filter over the intake tube. I tried tweaking the tube around a bit, but with it mounted underneath the PS fluid reservoir, it doesn't really want to move. I ran out of time before I had to go to work, so I just didn't install the heat shield, but I'd like to get it on there in the next couple of days. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Heat shield
you can put a little sealer on your IAT sensor, run a small bead around the sensor and install it in the grommet, wipe off any excess and let it set for about 30 minutes, you should be ok.I sealed my IAT sensor on my K&N and it worked great. As far as the heat shield, try assemblying w/everything loose, you may have to slot the openings or maybe remove a little material in order to get everything to fit.The shield probably has more than one application, like a one size fits all,so you'll need to mess w/ it in order for it to fit and fit correctly, take your time, make it right.Hope this helped, good luck.
