AF1 and volant

i have an 05 screw 4x4 with the intake and magnaflow siso catbak.

i had a volant on my truck for a while and just switched to the AF1 3" and only did the change since ive read on this site that the volant had crappy power in the upper rpm's. to be honest, i couldnt really tell much difference anywhere. maybe thats compared to the 3.5" AF1?

not saying that the AF1 is no good, which it is since i can still feel the performance difference from stock but im just beating myself since = i had to dish out more cash for the new intake.
now im gonna get the xcalii and see what all the hype is on tuners since ive never owned one.

just for the record, i never had the droning issue with the volant and i didnt even have it fully secured with the screws that hold the casing down. i was in a rush to get it on and try it out and never fastened it down all the way.

the air suction noise might have been a tad bit louder with the volant but barely.

just my $.02

Sounds like you were happier with the volant for the money you spent.

Wait until you get a programer it will make all the difference. Sell the one you are lease happy with. Your Volant will give you more pertection off road.

I'm really glad to hear that since I've been thinking about replacing my K&N w/ a Volant with the xtra air scoop!! Everyone's been talking up the A-F1 and Airaid, but I just don't see how they can call them true COLD air intakes when they do nothing more than suck in hot engine compartment air! Oh yeah I also have the Xcall ll on the way. Guess I better call Crystal before they get to work on my tunes!
