f150 2004 5.4l exhaust
Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and was hoping to get some kind of idea as to what I want for an exhaust. I don't want to go full cat-back but muffler back.
I want a rumble to my tumble but don't have an idea where to start as far as sizes, etc.
please someone direct me to a site or give some information to go on it would be much appreciated.

Welcome to the forums 
ok, for size, stock your 2.5", so keep it that size, anything bigger wont be good for your backpressure and will lose you some lbs of torque.
Most prefered exhaust brands, Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Dynomax, Roush, Borla, and Cherrybomb. Those are the most common exhausts for our trucks.
Flowmaster is my top favorite, I just love the deep rumble sound it gives, though some ppl have had issues with torque loss with them. And its an aluminum finish, so if its not coated or painted in due time it will rust out on you like any unprotected metal would.
Magnaflow seems to be the most prefered, built stainless steel and very well with the mandrel bends, and Magnaflow has proven performance gains, alot of guys combine Magnaflow with a CIA ( cold air intake ) and get a tune and can feel the increased power. And Magnaflow doesn't drone as much as most other brands do.
Dynomax is a great exhaust brand, its a dead on combo 50/50 of loud & deep, sounds very good. The specific muffler by dynomax I am refering to is the bullet.
Roush is a good performance exhaust, The soundclips I have heard its a pretty nice loud exhaust.
Borla is quite popular with the Mustangs, I love how it sounds on Mustangs, also sounds pretty good on some trucks too, I haven't heard many clips though.
and cherrybomb, their extreme muffler sounds very good. I just heard an '06 Supercrew with that muffler & it sounded very good.
go you http://youtube.com/ and search up exhaust clips of those mufflers on Ford trucks, you should get plenty of results and listen to alot of clips to help you decide what is best for you. gl with your exhaust project :thumb:
