just a little better air flow, and maybe mpg increase. but nothing noticeable. if you want to get something out of it. get a whole CAI

Don't know how much this helps you, but these are the results I got from a K&N drop in filter on my sister's 1999 V6 Mustang. She just got it used at 100k miles (don't know if this matters at all.)

The times were gotten from my GT1 Timer. Hope this helps

1000 ft: 14.27 sec
1/8 mile: 11.00 @ 64.3 mph
330 ft: 7.17 sec
60 ft: 2.50 sec

this may be a dumb question, but how'd your 1/4 go down when the top speed is less?

Yea, I was wondering the same thing when I first saw the results. I'll check the videos again.

Yep, that's what the thing said.

If you look at the times....his holeshot was better. He got a better start.....I've drag raced atv's for several years and your good times come with a great start.

As for the drop in K&N.....if you don't want to spend the $$ on a full system then the drop in is a good deal. If nothing else you'll save some cash in fuel mileage and never having to buy another oem filter.
