Newbie needs exhaust help

Hey guys I have a 2002 F150 with the 5.4L Triton V8 and I was wondering what would be a good decently cheap exhaust. I was also looking at cutouts. Help me please.

I was running a flowmaster 40 with 3" pipes and 3 1/2" tips exiting behind my wheels and it sounded great. I wanted a little bit louder, so I installed a manual cutout before the muffler. Now its way deeper and when I hit it at WOT it sounds amazing. After the exhaust set up, the cutout will cost you 28 bucks from summit and around 20 to get your local shop to weld it on. Hope this helps.

I say the flowmaster will be your best bet.

Yeah Flowmaster is the way to go. Their mufflers are very affordable, original 40 ranges $50 - $60, and the Super 40 ( slightly quieter but deeper than original 40 ) is around $75.

I would go with the Flowmaster also. I have had the dual cat-back that exits below the bumper on my 2002 Supercrew for a year now and I love it. Not too loud at highway speeds but has a nice sound on acceleration.

i used the factory pipes and welded in a magnaflow. highway sound is perfect. rumbles with some growl when you get on it. this was cheap and sounds great.

I would go with a Magnaflow unit over a Flowmaster, that way you don't lose low-end torque.
