im planning on chopping my exhaust and doing turn downs. wat would be louder my 40 series or this cherry bomb muffler. any one have the cherry bomb

The Extreme muffler would be louder. I have one on my 03 F150 5.4L with 4x18 Magnaflow SS tips out the corners and it sounds great.

 

I have the flowmaster 10 series si/so dumped and it sounds awesome, but if that's not one of your choices then I'd go with the 40 imo.

 

Cherry bomb all the way i have one on my 4.6 and it has a low rumble at idle and screams at high revs.

Hey all,
I saw this post and figured I had to do my part to help out. So I went outside (9:00pm) with my digi cam and made you a nice video of a sample of what the cherry bomb sounds like. I used the straight cherrybomb with 2 1/4 openings on either end and a small piece of stainless pipe. The cherrybomb is just not quite long enough to replace the factory muffler, It's 2" short. I cut out the factory muffler on both ends and pieced it all back together with the small extension, put it up under the truck and tacked it all together when it was all lined up then took it back out and welded all the way around. So, if you like single pipe like I do, you will like the cherry bomb straight

by the way what would a dynomax bullet sound like with turn downs. would it just be to ****in loud?

 

I can try the video for you no problem! I have the exaust coming out where it did as factory single pipe. I just cut out the factory muffler and used factory pipe w/ cherry bomb. I dont know bout the dynomax personally, but in my expierience using turndowns....they suck, just my .02 . I had an 03 fx4 that i put turn downs on and it sounded very shallow and "ricey" and way too much drone in cab. I just went ahead and spent the 250.00 and had someone do duals for me, It sounded a lot better.

06white150, your truck sounds really good! now its got me thinking of cherrybomb for my next exhaust. I definatly wanna hear a rev up & a little drive by of that exhaust, if you get clips like that post them

Cherrybomb always beats Flowmaster in loudness, Flowmasters my favorite exhaust company but i'd say you might want to go Cherrybomb here.
