cold air v/s stock

Talking cold air v/s stock

Do the cold air intakes really work or am i good with sticking to stock, on a 4.2 v6 with a 5 speed?

as a first time moder, I would have to say IMO that Cold Air is much better than stock. The more air you get in the vehicle, the more power you get w/ increased gas efficiency.

Considering cold air induction is dyno proven, then yes. The Air Force 1 is 100% dyno proven for increases.

Your stock intake is cold air. The only thing is that it is restrictive. Get an intake that has an enclosed air filter box to protexct the filter from mud and heat.

Also, make sure you buy an intake that at least has a dyno graph from your specific engine type.

Ok so what do you recomend for the V6 4.2L on an 06 model?

Hands down, the AF1 if you're interested in other big name brands go with K&N, S&B or AEM

I believe that of the four brands mentioned, AF1 is the only company that has not yet posted a dyno graph. Nor have I seen any posted here from forum members. Perhaps some forum members have dyno tested the AF1 intake, please post them.

I thought i remembered seeing some graphs of the AF1...maybe I'm wrong and it was for something else.
