Arrow Which Magnaflow to use

I'm wanting to change out my stock setup with true duals on my 2001 SuperCrew. Which Magnaflow muffler is the one to give me the nice growl but not drone or be too load on the highway. Also, do you have to worry about any codes getting set when you open up the exhaust?

personally i would get the 18" maggie, its got a nice growl on acceleration but not loud at cruising speed. and you shouldnt worry about any codes

you will not get any codes unless you remove the cats. as long as your exhaust work is after the cats your good to go.

I've a Magnaflow SIDO on my truck and it sounds wicked when <40 mph. at 75 mph, the truck is pretty quiet.

I'm new to this site as far as posting, but have gathered much advice from all of you. I just put a 15609 MagnaFlow on my 03 supercrew 5.4 and it was easy and sounds great when you get on it and not to loud in the cab while driving with the family.

Thats what I'm going for. Can you get me a sound/avi clip, would love to hear it and have a look at it.

I just installed a MagnaFlow SISO and it sounds like a real V8 now. The single out suposedly has a bit more performance than the dual out and is a bit louder, but I like how loud it is. On the HWY it's super quiet, and I'm getting about 20 - 21MPG on the HWY now instead of the 14 - 15MPG I was getting with the stock exhaust. We'll see how she likes the lift, 35s, and an EVO tuner... first week of may; can't F'ing wait!

Well its on and what a beautiful sound. Does seem quieter at higher RPM's

Glad I didn't try the install, they had to do a little modifying d/t the 17" spare tire.

I got the smaller, and louder Maggie and even that is still great at cruising speeds. I am not a big fan of overly loud exhausts, but I find the maggie to be perfect for my needs.

Watch your mileage... (2005 5.4 screw 373LS) I noticed almost a 30% gain on the highway and in the city it's about 20% better. at near $4/gallon up here my maggie's almost paid herself off in just a few months. I couldn't believe the size of the stock muffler and those pinner pipes.

If Ford was at all smart they'd put some decent exhausts on from stock. Especially since their biggest problem is manufacturing gas guzzlers like the excursion (discontinued due to its polluting beastly nature).
