Flowmaster Super 40. Thought it would be louder.

Flowmaster Super 40. Thought it would be louder.

I just had a Flowmaster Super 40 put in place of the stock muffler. The shop added about a 6 inch section of pipe and then added a 3 inch stainless tip to the factory tailpipe. I thought it would be a lot louder than it is. Is there anything I can do to make it louder? I wish I had went with the original flowmaster 40. It is a 05 Lariat Extended Cab with the 5.4

Yea go get the original 40...they only cost like $75 beans. The shop should cut you a break on the install too since you just had this one put on

Just so you know mine got prob twice as loud after they broke in.Give it a few months and it will get louder,atleast mine did.If you really want loud i think flowmaster makes a race series muffler

Yes it will get louder with bracken.
Or you could invest in 2 high flow cats and it will be 3 or 4 times as loud as it it now.

Thanks guys. I hope that it will get louder. Right now it is even hard to hear at idle. I guess we will see what happens.

If you want you can add a manual cut-out and it will sound alot louder but still have a good growl to it. Thats what I did and I love it.

I just had mine put on earlier today and I love it! Nice deep rumble, especially when I accelerate, and no highway drone.

Mine got a little louder but if your not happy take it back now or the shop will not help you at all (with price) I got a single in duel out and it sounds good

Which SIDO muffler would have a deeper performance sound; the original 40 series or the super 40?

I would say the Super 40 would, he oigional 40 is louder than it is deeper, and the Super 40 is known for deep tone
