Exclamation Bassini VS Competition

I have a 97' 4.6L that has been superchiped. I was thinking about adding a K&N FIPK system and a BBK throttlebody in the near future. I want the most horsepower available and willing to spend $600 for an exhaust system. I've read several post's on Magnaflow's and did some research. I also looked at flowmaster, until I found out they loose power. I went on to youtube and listened everything from flows, mags, Bassini, Banks, and Borla, and thought that the Bassini's sounded the best, but how do they perform compaired to the rest of the competition. Should I also consider high flow cats and headers, (I've read Hooker headers are nice) to my future system. How sould I run the system, true duals, SiDo, x-pipes, any other knowledge would be appreciated. And I would be willing to spend more than 600 but thats a ball park figure on just the cat-back system. (I like the dual strait back exit look)

-Thank you for your help

Also would a 3" all the way threw exhaust have more of a benefit than the 2 1/2"? I'm only considering stainless steel.

I'd skip the t-body.

If it were me, I would instead put the money toward gears (what ratio depends on your tire size and current ratio) and a cat-back, and replace the y-pipe/collector while you are at it. Go to an exhaust shop and have them fab-up a system, and just pick your favorite muffler. Assuming you don't install it yourself, this is often a bit cheaper than buying an off-the-shelf cat-back, especially if you buy it from the same place that installs it.

A single-outlet will be all the flow you need.

I've got a 97 Expedition, and this is what I would have started with if I could do it all over again.

A supercharger was the best thing I've ever done to my truck.
Re-gearing it was easily the second-best.

I second that. Superchagers are great. I miss my Mustang! But gears do amazing things to whatever you put them on.

As for your exhaust? Bassani is awesome and Borla & Magnaflow are both great choices too. In my personal opinion Flows are a waste of money, Lately I've been looking MBRP as they have peaked my interest too.

Once I do my exhaust I'm gonna do true duals with hi-flow cats and hollowed out pre-cats. California keeps me from doing just 2 cats! My mufflers will be either MBRP, Magneflow, Bassani, or Borla. The straight through mufflers sound fantastic. I just need to decide.

Whatever you do is your choice. To each his own. I just thought I would give you some insight. I'm sure your selection will be a good one.

That's exactly what I've got.
Passed the visual and the sniffer, too
