i have a 2007 scab fx4 and want a lil better exhaust sound. I have read alot of people sayin these trucks have 4 cats but i just put my lift on last weekend and mine only has 2. Since mine only has 2 and the whole system is stainless anyway can i just get a new muffler and a nice shiny tip put on at a exhaust shop? Or are the prebent systems that much better?

 

You can have a muffler installed on your truck,FM,Magnaflow and I believe Gibson all make a single in,dual out muffler.Cut your muffler off,install the new one and have the exhaust shop install your tailpipes over the axle and out the back,install your tips.The kits cat back kits you buy from e-bay are basically the same,you don't have to take your truck to the muffler shop for the install,everything comes in the kit.Compare the prices of the two and go w/ what you feel is the better deal.Hope this helped,good luck w/ your exhaust.

 

you can easily just have your muffler replaced and use your stock pipeing all the way out the back and add a new tip if thats the look you wanna go with. The catback systems that you can buy are mandrel bent so the pipe's diameter is the same even in the bends. you'll get a tad better sound and a tad more performance, but it'll cost you. i'd just replace your muffler and add a tip and you'll have a good looking/sounding exhaust for way cheaper

 

All Ford trucks from 2006+ no longer have the 4 cat setup, so your lucky :thumb:

And replacing your muffler with an aftermarket muffler will help it sound much better. Especially dumped
