I have IMCO's "hotrod" muffler under my 04. It has a nice very deep rumble on start-up, rumbles while accelerating, but almost dead quite once at speed.

I just drove the truck again today, it has just been sitting in my garage for almost 3 weeks. I guess that I shouldn't have said that it was dead quite at speed. If I turn the radio down I can still hear the exhaust, so it is louder while cruising than stock. And much louder while on the gas and on start-up. One of my buddies said it sounds like his cousins F150 which hew said is running a Flowmaster 40 series. But he also said that his cousins truck has really bad drone while cruising 60mph, where as mine doesn't.

I am thinking about have the rear 2 cats cut off to get some more sound, or getting an SLP Loud Mouth 1, just for some more volume. But I don't want to develope and drone, so I "might" just leave it the way that it is.

I hear everyone talking about FMs droning while crusing. A couple of weeks ago I installed the FM 10 series single chamber race muffler on my '03 XLT 4x4 supercab flareside and I think it sounds awesome with very little drone. All I did was cut the stock muffler off and welded the FM in, then I cut the corner end piece off the stock tail pipe and welded it in as a dump turned 45 degrees toward the outside. It's got a very mean deep very low rumble at idle, wakes up really low and loud without having to stomp on it, and I can hear it at crusing like I want to but it's not too bad IMHO. The real test came when my wife heard it and rode in it cause she generally doesn't like loud exhaust but she said she likes it even with the little amount of drone. I know that the muffler will get louder over time but that's not going to bother me.
