40 series questions...?

OK, well im still in limbo, i want an exhaust that sounds tough, and doesnt drone out my radio or conversation, and obviously good performance...i also want to go with the SIDO setup...

I have a few Q's...should i replece the pipes from the muffler back and if so, whats a good size? And i know if i go with FM, ill be doing the 40 series(dont know the dif b/w orig and delta)...i wanted to know what a comp mag is and if its a better choice than the FM 40's?...And my last question how much does this setup generally run assuming i purchase the muffler and take it to a shop?...Thanks

I"m not sure what the comp mag is but I'm running the flowmaster 40 series and I love it. I've got the SI/DO with 3" pipes all the way to the 3 1/2" tips and they exit behind the rear wheels. I got everything from the shop where I had it installed and they charged me $380 for everything including install.

the Delta Flow is the quietest & less obnoxious mufflers Flowmaster makes, so thats your best bet, so a Delta Flow si/do should make you happy, maybe stick with the 2.5" inlet & 3" outlets and 3.5" tips, great combo there

Thanks for the comments...I have been leaning toward the 40 series originals, just sounded like there were a lot of Mag fans on here....

finalday, do you have any pics of the duals behind the rear tires, im curious to see how that looks, i was gonna stick to straight out the back, but it might look good the other way...

I had true dual FM 40's on my last truck. I liked the sound but I had way too much drone with them. Sometimes it was hard to talk on the phone. I gained nothing with the FM. I put Magnaflow on my current truck. Love the sound. Low, deep rumble during normal cruising. Really wakes up when you get on it. I picked up a little power, better throttle response and almost 1.5 MPG. I had duals run out the back at the corners. 4x18 SS Mag tips. Pics in my gallery. Had mine done locally for $300.
