Anybody do thier own exhaust?

Alright I already have my exhaust on and the shop doesn't carry the tips I want so I am wanting to cut the tips off and cats off. I was wondering how difficult that is to do? On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being easy and 10 being difficult what would you say it is? I don't think it would be that hard its just cutting them off and welding replacement pipe there. My goal is to get my exhaust louder without changing mufflers(flowmaster super 40's). Also if I cut the cats off how do I fix the o2 sensor problem? Or will I have to put some high flow cats to replace the stock cats? Oh and I am wanting to put about a 3 1/2 to 4in tip.

What would make my exhaust louder: no cats or high flow cats? Or which would sound better?

I switched to hi-flow cats on my mustang. It made the sound increase by atleast half and you stay legal.

If I put high flow cats on will it still have the o2 senser problem or will it fix that? See I plan on doing this stuff myself since I do work in a fab shop(Makes heavy attachments for excavators and other heavy equipment). So we have welders so I was planning staying after one night and doing my cats and then my tips the next night. Who makes a good high flow cat? Or who makes the loudest cat? I have been looking at magnaflow hi-performance cats but not sure like what brand to target.

Im not an expert, but I would think that you wouldnt need a simulator with 2 hi flow cats. As for brand, magnaflow should be ok. I wouldl do a search if I were you.
