06 CAI Lean Condition

I have a question concerning the possibility of running lean when installing an after-market CAI on the 06 models, or 04-up models. From what I read, Airaid and someone else makes one that does not create a lean condition. I installed a Volant awhile back, before reading these posts and I'm wondering what is the difference between the two that would cause one to be lean, the other not? Is it cross-sectional area or what? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Answer to my ?

I think I found the answer to my own question. I wish I could remember who posted pics of the 1st & 2nd generation Airaid CAI's to give them credit. The second generation Airaid has a notch right behind the mass air sensor. This must be just enough of a disturbance in the air flow to prevent a lean condition. Anybody agree or disagree with this thinking? I need to check my Volant to see how it is designed.
