3 combo

I called troyer performance today. I talked to a lady who was very informative. they are going dyno test s&b cold intake on Friday feb 23 or sometime next week. I told her i'm interested in stage 1 kit. which includes s&b cold intake, magnaflow SISO, and the xcal2 programer.

Yea, I'm curious how the S&B intake does, although I just got the AF1 3.25 and seriously doubt I would change, but I am curious of the results...

As am I ... vicariously, of course

I am SO looking forward to seeing the results, particularly against the AF1 3.5".

This should also finally answer the question about whether or not the new S&B requires tuning or not.

Most recent response I received from Mike indicated the 3.5" AF1 was still the hot ticket.

Either way, it's the next item on my list....

Have fun, Marc (Dad) !

Cheers

So maybe I missed something but is Troyer carrying S&B now?? Someone said they can get the Stage 1 kit from Troyer with the S&B kit, just wondering.

some answers

05Superscew----I'm not sure if they will post the results, but they are suppose to call me with results next week.because I asked if it possible to substitute AF1 to s&b. They been hearing about the S&b so much, so they are going to get the kit in.

MGDFan----- Yes as of right now 3.5 AF1 is the hot one now. but i'm not to excited about open aircleaner noise reasons.

josho66---- troyer performance said they will sell s&b in a stage one kit.

So they are looking at getting it. If Troyer is going to carry it then it must be a good item. Still worried about the CEL with the 04's.

That's what the custom tuning is for, among other things....

The S&B intake is meant to be used with no tuner and have no CEL though.....

When everyone sees the AF1 make more power than the S&B I'll have my 3.25 kit for sale.

Hi Josh - that remains to be determined empirically - and looks like that will be happening this wekend.

Also - did you read the link referenced by Gadsan? It's not a simple issue.

Would you rather know for sure it's safe, or just take the manufacturer's word for it???

Who knows they may in point of fact be right - but I'd prefer independent confirmation. And if they are right, that means intakes can be designed with significant (and I mean AF1 3.5"-level improvements, not just an increase in 'suckin' sound) performance gains and be safe with the stock transfer function. In which case AF! has some homework to do. But, that hasn't been demonstrated yet.

We'll see soon...

Cheers
Bubba
