dynomax

I've had a dynomax on a truck before, sounds awesome. I'd get the Ultra-flow welded muffler. The welded one as no seams , it'll last much longer and sounds better then the reg. dynomax.

You can check their site for sound clips. Check the catalog out. Lot's of good info in there about exhaust. Talks about how to increase hp, it's not always better if you got too big of a pipe. Lot's of good info for anybody thinking of building an exhasut.

I had the Dynomax system prior to the JBA I have now. I liked the Dynomax, it was a super turbo muffler and wasn't too loud, deep sound at low rpm's. When the tailpipe went kaput, it got lots louder, plus there was a hole on the top of the muffler. My brother had super turbo 2.5" mufflers, side exhaust on his 95 stang, with an off road h-pipe and MAC long tubes, this was insane loud. They do produce nice sounds.

I have Dynomax Super Turbos - but not on my truck. They're on a '69 Cougar with 351W. It's got headers and an H pipe - true duals. They sound great on there, but it's also cammed up and 400hp, too. Not real loud, nice idle, a little drone at about 2k, and open up pretty good when on it. If you want something with those characteristics - it may be a good choice for you. The Magnaflow SI/DO for my pickup is actually on it's way to me. I have a feeling that will be louder than the Dynomax on the Cougar based on what I've read about the Mags and sound clips I've heard.

I have the Dynomax Ultraflow welded muffler. It's got a sweet mellow tone and an aggresive growl when you mash on the gas, with no real drone at cruising speed. It's a straight through muffler, the only difference between it and the Dynomax Bullet is the shape of the case. The Ultraflow is the regular oval shape, the Bullet it round.

Today I put on a Dynomax super turbo and a 3" magnaflow tip. The muffler, hangers, and pipe only cost $78 and the sound is awesome. I will try to get some sound clips up.

So here are some pics of my new dynomax super turbo. Ive had it on for a week now and have gone 500 miles so i think it is pretty well broke in, and i have to say its just as loud as a flowmaster minus the drone. I also picked up 1-2mpg. I have a sound clip but i dont know how to upload it yet ill try again tomarrow. leave my ghetto welds alone...

I email Dynomax today to find out the performance difference between their straight through design Ultra Flo's and their Super Turbo mufflers. I know their Ultra Flo flows better at 1133 cfm compared to the Super Turbo at 410cfm, but how does it equate to no loss of torque, mileage and performance gain?
