Smile Flowmaster 40 or Magnaflow 11266 Please help

Just changing out the muffler. Want that nice deep growl that says "Power". Thinking of the Flowmaster 40 or it seems that the Magnaflow 11266 is the choice?? I don't want it too loud to wake the neighbours, or too monster truck sounding. Also heard that the Magnaflow will increase power and gas mileage and that the Flowmaster will not do this?? Thanks for your replies and sorry for another muffler question...Peace...

well why have it just sound like power and not actually have anymore?

I actually think that flowmasters sound to typical and boring. everyone has them it seems. you can identify them on anything just from the sound. be unique. go magnaflow. actually gain some power instead of just sounding like you did.

any aftermarket muffler is going to give you more power than the stock muffler for sure. just go with what you think sounds the best. the power difference between 2 different aftermarket mufflers is going to be minimal

Do you mind me asking how much and where you got your magnaflow from?

About how much will it cost to get it installed?

What model & size of M/F muffler did you pick up, and did you only change the muffler? Any droning?

Also is the 14" Magnaflow too loud? Which model # is good?

I installed the # 11266 a coupe of weeks ago and love it. It is not loud at all but does give a nice low rumble at idle and when you get on it. This is an 18 inch muffler so if you go shorter it will be louder. I bought mine off of Ebay through Performance Peddler for $66.00 dollars shipped to my door. I recieved it in 3 days. All I did was cut the old one out and clamped this one in with a short piece pipe to make up the length difference between the new one and old muffler. Good luck on your choice.
