My Trucks a Lepper!!! hahaha

OK after traveling the country and searching hi and low for a shop to build my custom exhuast for me; True duals with MF cats, xipe, FM super 40's and pipes out the back. I went to Midas and they said they'll do it. I'm providing the cats, mufflers, x-pipe and tips. here's a breakdown of the parts and prices.

2x Magnaflow cats (91076) $103.32
2x Flowmaster Super 40s $144..44
Magnaflow X-Pipe $60.46
2x SS Tips $29.00

4x O2 sensor bosses $21.00
3x 10' sticks of 2.5" pipe $150.00
4x Exhaust Hangers $32.00
8x welds/clamps/gaskets $32.00
6hrs LABOR $435.00

Bringing the grand total to about $1050.00
The guy said that 6 hrs was maximum and he may be able to "work" with me on the total cost of labor. Does that just mean he's gonna lube it up before he gives it to me? I dont really have much choise here since this is the only shop that will even talk to me about it, but Is $1050.00 a reallistic price to pay for this???

Whoa....just my opinion, but I think for that price I would just save a little more and buy the Dynomaxx Exhaust system with headers, cats, etc. and then just fabricate the rest of the exhaust myself with some pipe, choice of muffler, hangers etc.

But if thats what you want go for it....I can't believe there is nothing cheaper though?

lol get this: A friend at work sent me to a shop and told me they'd give me a good deal. I went to this shop, told him about my co-worker and told him what I wanted. Just like everyone else he stopped me mid sentance and said that I should just go with a SIDO flowmaster catback. He said "The sound is really cool and the pipes are already pre-bent. You can get that installed for about $700.00" At that point I asked him if the pipes are pre-bent, then WTF do I need him for? I can find a buddy to weld the pipe for me alot cheaper then the $250.00+ he would be adding to the cost of the kit..

The problem with me is that im stupidly stubborn, but I want what I want and I dont like taking NO for an awnser. If I could drive 200miles to a land where people actully "worked" on cars and trucks, I would in a heart beat! But I dont know where that place is..

Anyways Im getting a good chunk of my taxes back. And If I go the midias route I intend on watching them every step and making sure they do it right. I probably could save a little money by doing the cats and o2s myself but for the $100.00 or so I might save I'm not sure its worth it given my current "lack of shop or garage" situation. If anyone has anymore input I'm all ears. peace
