They save money on filters if you run it long enough. Less air restriction, so theoretically better performance and might save a little gas. Not enough gas savings to pay for it. I have had one for 42,000 miles.

yes they are so worth it...i put one in yesyerday and my truck runs so much better. acceleration is much more smoother..i have straight pipes so helps the air flow. you will see and hear a noticable difference when you crank up.my truck even runs at lower rpms when cruisin and has more get up on the gas. makes my exhaust lil louder

No. Or at least not for me. Not for the trouble they can cause, and the dirt they let through. One day, I took my air filter out just for kicks, and it didn't make any difference in my 1/4 mile or 0-60 times.

Yes they do. It's been proven by numerous corporate and comsumer air filter tests that the K/N drop in air filter definitely filters air.

I have a K/N drop in I didn't really notice any performance difference (mabye a very small one) but it did make the intake noise a little louder. I mainly got it because I dont have to change the filter ever just have to clean it.

I have been wondering the same thing about chester's pic. The rear looks slamed.

It's as real as it gets. I pulled it a little ways just to say I did, but it was too much weight on the back of my truck. My dad pulls it with his F250 every now and then, and it isn't so rough on his truck. We usually use a tractor though, cause it is too heavy for a pickup (even a F250) to stop.

Check out my gallery. I do actually pull that bulldozer around. Even though it doesn't have a dolly, it isn't NEARLY as hard on my truck as that excivator!

I'm adding a few extra pics for your viewing enjoyment. I feel like Neal....
