Exhaust setup

I'm about to put a 14" Magnaflow dumped on my 2000 5.4. I was thinking about getting a SI/DO so I have the option of switching to duals if i want to. I was wondering if there is a noticable difference in power or noise between a SI/DO vs. SI/SO dumped. Would the dual out be louder?

Thanks.

I have another question. Which is louder a 4x9 oval body or 5x8 oval body in a SI/SO 14" muffler. Thanks again.

Here's the way my muffler guy explained it to me. A smaller muffler will produce more sound than a larger. And that tone moving through one passage will produce a better tone than splitting it with the SIDO. The SIDO is only for those who want a dual exhaust look. There's no sense in dumping a SIDO muffler since you won't see.
